The new iPod touch is out 5th generation

While people are more focused on the new iPhone 5 that was released yesterday why don't we have a look at the new iPod touch.

Starting at P 16,490.00 SRP for the 32 GB model And P21,990 for the 64 GB model the new iPod touch only comes in 2 capacities 32 and 64 based on the Apple store website.The price it self shows that there have been big changes made to the iPod touch. The first thing you will notice is that now no more black or white only options now the iPod touch comes in 6 colors Blue, Yellow, Pink, Silver, Black and of course the special red version like its siblings like the new iPod nano that also sports different colors to choose from. Another change you would notice is that the screen is now bigger compared to the older model from 3.5 inches now 4 inches retina display. With the bigger screen and all people might think that the latest iPod touch is heavier but you would be surprised that its even lighter than the old model from 101 grams now it only weighs 88 grams. There has been another physical change other than the color and the size the latest iPod touch now also comes with a strap holder which Apple calls iPod touch loop to prevent accidental slips and drops great feature fro klutz like me.

Great news for our readers that love taking pictures the new iPod touch now has better camera it now has a 5 mega pixel camera on which i think is good enough for you to snap pics with you can even leave your point and shoot camera and use this as for the picture quality we have yet to test it but will update you soon once test shots are available. The new camera on the device now also has LED flash, face recognition and also can shoot 1080p hd videos. Now lets take a look at whats inside the device now has an dual core a5 chip which gives us twice the processing speed and seven times faster graphics for a better gaming experience. Another internal change is that this device now comes with the latest iOS which is iOS 6 said to pack over 200 new features to make things you do everyday easier. After highlighting the changes of the new iPod touch lets not forget the accessories this device is now using the new Lightning connector for your charging and file transfers but old apple users who would still like use their old accessories don't worry apple made an adaptor to make old accessories compatible with the new cable and last but not the least the new set of earphones that look like ear buds which apple calls ear pods.

UPDATE : siri is now available on the iPod touch 5th Gen so for those who want to get siri but not break the bank this is your chance. i have to say from personal experience siri is very helpful i use her allot on my phone so for those who want to get siri what are you waiting for pre order now.

Wis. boy, 17, is the fastest texter in America
NEW YORK (AP) — A 17-year-old boy who says he has "abnormally fast thumbs" has been named the fastest texter in America for the second year in a row.

"It feels incredible," said Austin Wierschke of Rhinelander, Wis., after winning the sixth annual U.S. LG National TextingCompetition in Times Square on Wednesday. He gets $50,000 in prize money, which he says he'll save and use to pay for college, along with the $50,000 he won last year.

Eleven contestants from around the U.S. competed, all using the same type of cellphone, an LG Optimus Zip phone with QWERTY keyboard. Cellphone-maker LG Electronics sponsored the contest.

The competition tested three skills — speed, accuracy and dexterity — on four different challenges. They were "do you know text speak?", in which contestants had to spell out text abbreviations; texting while blind-folded; "text blitz," where phrases were shown to the contestants for a length of time and they copied them as fast as they could; and texting backward, where jumbled words were given to the contestants and they had to figure out the word.

To practice for the competition, the 17-year-old champion said he sent almost 500 texts a day to his friends.

Runner-up Kent Augustine, 16, from Queens, said he was "a little disappointed," but he won't be walking away empty-handed, since the second-place winner gets $10,000. He said he was going to try again next year.

Fellow competitor Kelly Barracato was not surprised that Wierschke won. She said she noticed that during the press tour, "his thumbs were flying."

Anita Levine, 16, and Anan Arias, 17, came out to see the competition.

Arias is an avid texter who says she sends more than 100 texts a day. "Texting is part of the new generation," she said.

Levine said she loves texting but her father won't let her. "My dad thinks it is pointless," she said.

Jan and Lori Emanuele, both in their 50s, were curious to see the competition. Both text often but say it can sometimes get a bit overwhelming.

"When I first saw 'ttyl,' I thought, 'what is that?'" Jan Emanuele said. TTYL stands for talk to you later. \

Looking for a budget tablet how about giving the the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 a try a very capable tablet under 13k. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 measuring 7 inches would be able to perform the basic demands a tablet user would need with full access to the android market unlike other tablets like the amazon kindle fire that has very restricted android access which is also a 7 inch tablet unless your into rooting your kindle fire but if you want android running out of the box why not give this tablet a shot.

This is a huge step Google made i guess they saw that there is a huge market for an affordable but capable tablet. I beleive this tablet would be one of the best in its range a full version of Android os and the latest at that and lots of other features not available to the other tablest which are priced the same like the kindle fire that a controlled version of Android. This tablet may not be perfect but the basic things that an average user would need would be here and this tablet may not be as great as an iPad or other android tablet but this tablet has just set the bar higher for the tablets in its range. I only hope that the rumors about this tablet not being available outside the united states are not true and that Google would also launch it here in Asia specifically in the Philippines.

The iTunes Store is now open to consumers with credit cards issued in Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, PHILIPPINES, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. However  China and India 2 of the biggest asian countries are not included in the launch of the iTunes store in Asia.
This is great news for us filipinos finally we can now purchase more than 28 million songs which also includes asian artists, as well as movies from huge studios like disney, universal, paramount and etc.
This is a long awaited change by the Asian market where Apple is gaining massive popularity. So what you waiting for visit iTunes and start downloading your favorite songs and movies.

Dropbox free storage

Good news for iOS users Dropbox finally got an update and offers users to get free storage just by using the new camera upload function where the pictures can be automatically uploaded to dropbox after you snap them. The pictures that you snap can be deleted after but the space you will receive will stay and you can get up to 3 GB  additional space.  Who doesnt like free storage and Dropbox is one of the best among online storages that ive used.

All you have to do to get your free space is to test the Camera Upload feature here are the steps

• Upload a photo using Camera Upload and you'll instantly get 500MB of extra Dropbox space
• If you've finished importing your photos using the desktop application, you may still have to wait until Dropbox finishes syncing before free space is applied to your account
• Every 500 MB you upload via the Camera Upload feature bumps you up another 500 MB
• You can bump your Dropbox storage up six times for a total of 3 GB of free space. In other words, to reach your limit you have to upload 2.5 GB through the Camera Upload feature

The Dropbox space you earn is permanent. You can use it for the life of your account. Enjoy!

Nokia Windows phone 7 not updatable

Nokia WP7 user won't be able to run the upcoming Windows phone 8 so for those who are looking into buying WP7 abut wants to have the option of upgrading to the upcoming WP8 might wanna wait a bit. This is not good news for Nokias Windows phones but current users your not at a dead end Windows said that they would still be releasing an update for WP7 which would be the WP7.8 which is said to mimic the new features of WP8 although not as polished as the WP8. Although this solution isn't what WP7 would like but better an update than none right. So decision making time to buy WP7 or to wait it out? What do you guys think? Leave a comment

Samsungs on a roll just after releasing Samsung Galaxy S3 rumors is that Samsung will be releasing the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 this October of 2012. Those who plan on buying the Samsung Galaxy Note now might wanna wait for the new release just so that you have the option to choose to get the latest version or stick with getting the first one for a lower price after the launch of the next one I mean if you waited till this time what's a few more months if you be getting the best or getting a better deal later on right and the iPhone 5 is also rumored to come out at the same time getting more options to choose from isn't bad right.
